Wheatfield Elementary's Positive Behavior Program:
Sometimes in our society negative behavior is acknowledge and rewarded more than positive behavior. The school would like to change this idea by rewarding and acknowledging those children that meet expectations for safety, respectfulness and positive learning on a regular basis. Yes, students should have internal rewards not just external, but having someone tell you, you are doing well feels really GREAT!
We are looking for those children that show: Respectfulness: respect for themselves and others regularly,
they listen and follow directions
Safety: they follow the rules in order to keep themselves and others
healthy and safe
A Learner: good attendance, actively participates, good effort,
does their homework and turns it in--no excuses, takes
responsibility
We will also be looking for positive behavior on the bus: not distracting the driver, no name calling, keep hands and feet to themselves, listen and following directions, use a peaceful voice, etc.
